Dark Water Merchantz was inspired by boom bap, lyrical hip hop. Wu Tang, Hieroglyphics, and various indie hop hop artists. The core group of DWM is producer Tha Strida Hiryu, Sunn Tha Mythological God Apollo (Sunn Sunn Scizzorhandz), Atllas, and Kahnquest. Later joined by producer Tha Kracken (Nekkron 99) and Golden Child. New members are on the album Circle of tha Moon releasing in April
